Nearly 19 million people watched the Monday debut of Joe Millionaire, including 13 million people ages 18 to 49—and almost half of those viewers were men. Although it lost its hour to Everybody Loves Raymond, FOX’s Gail Berman says she “was shocked.” Also, except for the whole lying-about-the-inheritance thing, Joe Millionaire seems a lot like The Bachelor, and the ABC show’s producer Mike Fleiss agrees, saying the show is “a pretty inventive swipe at us.” He tells the Chicago Sun-Times, “I would probably do the same thing if I were in [Fox’s] shoes, and so I can’t get too [ticked].”
