Joe Millionaire’s Evan Marriott received $11,000 to appear at the University of Missouri Columbia earlier this month. That’s $4,000 shy of his asking price. On stage, Evan asked “What the hell am I doing here?” and then answered questions from a mostly female audience, according to the campus newspaper, The Maneater. Commenting on the university, Evan said, “It’s really cool because it is a college campus. There’s dorms. It has a very college campus feel.” An editorial in the paper says Marriott made ” less-than-intelligent comments — many of which were homophobic” but says that’s not surprising because “this former construction worker-turned-television-whore has about as many redeeming qualities as a thumb tack.”
