FOX show will follow women as they pursue a fake multimillionaire.
FOX has finished production on a reality TV show that will follow 20 women as they seek the affections of a millionaire, a la The Bachelor. But there’s a “twist: The as-yet unidentified man is actually a construction worker with an annual income of $19,000,” according to Variety. At the end of the show, the winner will be told by the man that he’s just a construction worker with a makeover. FOX’s Mike Darnell tells Variety it’s “a spectacular ending” as they “find out whether [the contestants are] really doing this for love.” Joe Millionaire debuts Jan. 6 at 9 p.m. ET, and will be hosted by Trading Spaces’ first host, Alex McLeod.
