Jersey Shore guys illustrate Village Voice’s “queer issue”
Three of the Jersey Shore men are shirtless on the cover of the Village Voice this week, and that’s notable because it’s the magazine’s “queer issue,” and their photos illustrate a cover story about men on the down low in New Jersey.
While the paper has a regular interview about season two with Mike “The Situatio” Sorrentino, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, and Vinny Guadagnino, the “down low” article points out that “[c]entral to the show’s success is The Situation & Co.’s blend of the homophobic and homoerotic, mixed together like a potent Long Island Iced Tea. Ronnie’s ‘fucking faggot’ boardwalk rants, The Situation’s gay-for-pay media plays, and Pauly D’s shirtless photos (showcased on dicks-out website GuysWithiPhones.com) have all shaken the cocktail.”
According to a Page Six source, the guys “didn’t know” they were being photographed for the queer issue, which could inflame their homophobia, except I’m pretty sure their inner attention whore always wins any battle.
