NJ governor slams Jersey Shore, because its cast is full of New Yorkers

New Jersey governor Chris Christie appeared on ABC’s This Week, and was asked about MTV’s Jersey Shore, which returns Thursday for its second season. He has a problem with it, but not because of the cast’s behavior or embodiment of stereotypes: but because they’re secretly New Yorkers.

He said it is a “negative for New Jersey. What it does is take a bunch of New Yorkers—who, most of the people on Jersey Shore are New Yorkers—it takes a bunch of New Yorkers, drops them at the Jersey Shore, and tries to make America feel like this is New Jersey.”
