Students recreate Super Mario Bros. on India’s Got Talent

They may not be the next international sensation like Susan Boyle, but a group of students in India auditioned for India’s Got Talent with an act that speaks to a certain generation: those of us who grew up on Super Mario Bros.

The Indian version of the series debuted June 27, and via Boing Boing comes what may be its break-out hit: the audition of a group called Illuminati who create a real-life version of the game, complete with music and Koopa Troopas. It falls apart as a direct copy of the video game about halfway through, but parts of that get points for creativity.

A longer version of the segment I found includes the group’s prep for the act, which includes them creating their props.
