The Simple Life is about to wreak havoc on the world, but Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie won’t be along for the ride. Instead, broadcasters worldwide who have bought the format will have to find their own horny heiresses with heroin fiend friends to make fun of common people. So far, there will be a French Canadian version and a Belgian version, and FOX World plans to sell the show to other broadcasters at a convention in early October. The pitch, according to a FOX World VP: “this is more of a fish-out-of-water series.” Thus, heiresses who are famous for no real reason at all aren’t a requirement. The French Canadian version features “TV interviewer Anne-Marie Losique and pop singer Jacynthen,” while the Belgian version features “two young Belgian women taking to the roads of Europe,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
