Project Greenlight heading to Australia.

Project Greenlight heading to Australia.
Australia’s Movie Network has bought the rights to Project Greenlight, and will begin producing its own version of the series. In addition, the three seasons of the US show will air starting in December. The contest will be structured just like the US version, with an online contest leading to the selection of a script and director. In its report, the Sydney Morning Herald’s report overstates the impact of the show in the US just a bit as it sells the series to Australians: “Damon and Affleck’s idea has spawned three successful series and three films - Stolen Summer, The Battle of Shaker Heights and Feast.” Since the third series hasn’t debuted yet and the third film hasn’t even been released yet, they haven’t had a chance to become a success yet. And hopefully that adjective “successful” is only meant to modify “series,” because both films pretty much qualified as flops.
