The format of Tyra Banks’ and UPN’s Next Top Model “has been sold to more than 40 territories worldwide in its original U.S. version and also has been licensed as a format for local production in numerous other territories,” according to The Hollywood Reporter. The first country to air its own version of the series is Russia. CTC began airing the series on Saturday and Sundays last month, “where it captured more than a 13 share of national audience at peak viewing last week.” The paper says that other countries airing “the U.S. version include Globosat in Brazil, Visat in Mexico, TVB in Hong Kong, TV7 in Indonesia and Cineplex in Thailand.”
