Canadian Idol 3 auditions begin; the show “opts for a more gentle approach.”
Canadian Idol 3 has begun casting, and the show will visit 13 cities over 13 weeks. There’s a difference between this show and its meaner cousin to the south, though: “Whereas American Idol parades these talent-less screechers before the judges for a good laugh, the Canadian component opts for a more gentle approach,” the Calgary Sun reports. Judge Farley Flex says, “I enjoy the fact that somebody who has no inhibitions will muster up confidence whether they are good or not. I get into the psychology of the show. Some people are in search of some kind of self-worth.” He says, “If someone’s not good, I’ll tell them, but I will only laugh at people who want to be laughed with.”
