Ironically, the producers of a FOX show are suing another show for copyright infringement, for essentially stealing their ideas. Of course, that’s never ever happened on FOX before. FremantleMedia, the company that produces American Idol, is suing Panamericana, a network that has produced a Peruvian, Spanish-language knock-off of Idol called Superstar. “‘American Idol’ producers alleged that ‘Superstar’ infringes on their copyright. The lawsuit lists the similarities between the two shows, including having two supportive judges and a caustic one,” the AP reports. “They want Panamericana Television SA to be barred from showing ‘Superstar’ in the United States.”
