Canadian Idol 2 concludes tonight.
Tonight, either Alberta’s Kalan Porter or Saskatchewan’s Theresa Sokyrka will be named the next Canadian Idol. The competition itself will be in competition, because the season finale is facing off against the debut of Survivor Vanuatu, which the Toronto Sun reports will yield “the undisputed title of Canada’s top-rated TV series.” CTV “can smell blood and they see an opening. If tonight’s Idol ender can top Global’s Survivor opener, they lay claim to the one ratings prize that still eludes them: Canada’s No. 1 show,” the paper reports. While both shows start at the same time, Global/CBS’ Survivor is only an hour, while Idol’s finale is two hours, allowing fans of both shows to watch both.
