Singapore will host first Asian Idol.
The first Asian edition of Idol will be hosted by Singapore. MediaCorp TV’s Channel 5 will produce and air the show. “The series will debut in the second half of 2004, and details on the hosts, judges and audition dates will be released in the coming months,” according to Channelnewsasia.com. American Idol was popular in Singapore; nearly 1 million people there watched Ruben beat Clay last spring.
