World Idol airs on Christmas day.

World Idol airs on Christmas day.
If you celebrate Christmas, you’ll be glad to know that right about the time when you get sick of arguing about the Iraq war with your family, FOX will interrupt your gathering with World Idol. It airs in the US at 8 p.m. ET on Dec. 25, and will include eleven Idol winners competing for the title of the best (manufactured reality TV show) singer in the world. Voting is open to viewers in all of the competitors’ home countries, but viewers can’t vote for their nation’s representative. Using a voting and point system that makes the electoral college look like drawing straws, producers will tally votes and then declare a winner. That happens at 9 p.m. ET on New Year’s Day, so hung-over people all over the world can tune in to watch right about the time they wake up.
