Simon Fuller, the creator of the Idol shows, is planning a new show using the same format. Second Chance Idol, however, will not feature wannabe pop stars, but actual stars that were once popular but have since faded away. In an interview with Time magazine, he says the show will be “where we go to people who have had a taste of fame, but sadly their candle has been snuffed.” The show could air in the UK in February and in the US next summer, the BBC reports, and may feature stars such as “Tiffany,… Debbie Gibson and the surviving member of Milli Vanilli.”
