Arabic Big Brother debuts.
The Arabic version of Big Brother is now airing, broadcasting the lives of 12 people “from around the Arab world” who are living in a Bahrain house. There are changes to the format: “For the first time since the show’s inception there are segregated sleeping quarters for men and women,” the BBC reports. Additionally, “There is also a prayer room” and “a separate women’s lounge with a mixed-sex communal area.” The show airs throughout the Arabian peninsula on MBC.
