The half-brother of German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder will appear on Germany’s upcoming Big Brother. 57-year-old Lothar Vosseler grew up with Gerhard Schroeder with their mother. Reuters points out that his appearance is “unlikely to please his elder sibling,” in part because “the show will coincide with elections for the European parliament and in one German state, in which voters are expected to punish Schroeder’s Social Democrats for the government’s program of welfare cuts.” Reuters says that “Vosseler’s struggle to stay in work—he once lost his job cleaning sewers—has caught the attention of the country where over four million people are unemployed.” He’ll join the show June 13.
