Probst: Amazing Race should “pull itself out of competition”; Van Munster: “it’s unlikely”

After The Amazing Race’s seventh consecutive Emmy win, I think it should withdraw from competition, and Survivor host Jeff Probst suggested the same thing to reporters backstage at the Emmys last night.

“Maybe ‘Amazing Race’ should do what Oprah did and pull itself out of competition,” Probst said, according to the Los Angeles Times. Bertram Van Munster said that probably won’t happen, but didn’t totally shut down the idea: “I’m going to discuss it with my committee here, but it’s unlikely . … It was very intimidating to win for the seventh time,” he said.
