He “confirmed to reporters that the Emmys will soon create an award for judges on reality TV shows like ‘Dancing With the Stars,’ ‘American Idol’ and ‘Top Chef,’” The Los Angeles Times reports—although in a classic example of burying the lead, the story doesn’t get around to mentioning this news until the fourth paragraph, and even then it’s inexplicably downplayed.
Instead, there’s more emphasis on his insistence that there will not be an award for reality TV contestants. “We don’t want to turn into ‘Survivor’,” Shaffner said.
