David Lyle promoted to president of Fox Reality, which reaches 35 million homes

Almost two years after its debut, the Fox Reality Channel is now available in 35 million homes. That is “a feat only three other cable outlets (TNT, NFL Network and National Geographic Channel) pulled off so soon after birth,” Variety reports.

Meanwhile, David Lyle, the network’s chief operating officer and GM, has been promoted to president.

Fox Networks Group President Tony Vinciquerra told Variety, “David knows what makes good reality television and how to satisfy its audience’s desire for more. He’s done an outstanding job launching this network and helping to make it grow.” He added that the network is “well ahead of its original business plan,” and said, “We’ve grown up. We’ve come out of junior high and hit adolescence. We’re in profit, and we’ve bought a bunch of new acquisitions.”

Lyle said, “We’re punching above our weight. We’re pleased with how we’ve pulled it together in programming and our look on air.”
