ArchivesFinal Nielsen numbers for the 2005-2006 TV season are in, and of the top 10 shows, four are reality TV shows.
Actually, it’s three, because American Idol occupies the two top spots; the performance show was the most-watched program this past year, with an average of 31.2 million viewers, while the results show came in second with an average of 30.2 million, according to E! Online.
In seventh place was ABC’s Dancing with the Stars 2, with an average of 18.6 million viewers. Survivor Guatemala—which aired last fall—was in eighth place, with an average of 18.3 million viewers, while the following season, Survivor Panama, placed 11th with 16.8 million viewers.
In other reality news, Skating with Celebrities came in 35th place with 11.4 million viewers. E! doesn’t include rankings or ratings for any other reality shows.
