Kathy Griffin loses an Emmy to Extreme Makeover, while The Amazing Race wins two Emmys
Kathy Griffin has lost her bid for an Emmy. Her Bravo show lost to Ty Pennington’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, which sucks but should provide a good few minutes for her act. The winners were revealed Saturday at the Creative Arts Awards; the winner of the best competitive reality show will be revealed Sunday at the real Emmys.
In other categories, the reality entrants in the sound categories were shut out, while The Amazing Race won both the cinematography and editing awards. Here are the winners; the nominees were announced back in July:
- Outstanding Reality Program: Extreme Makeover: Home Edition
- Makeup for a Series (Non-Prosthetic): Black. White.
- Outstanding Cinematography For Nonfiction Programming (Multi-Camera): The Amazing Race, or the season X episode “Here Comes the Bedouin!”, the episode where Fran and Barry placed first.
- Outstanding Picture Editing For Nonfiction Programming (Large team entries - Primarily Multi-Camera Productions): The Amazing Race, for the same Amazing Race 9 episode.
