Survivor, American Idol, Amazing Race nominated for reality competition Emmys.
The newly renamed reality TV-related Emmy categories have their first nominees. Competing for best Reality-Competition Program are Survivor (no individual seasons are specified), The Amazing Race, and American Idol. They will compete against the two other nominees, two different programs: CBS’ “AFI’s 100 Years … 100 Passions: America’s Greatest Love Stories” and NBC’s “100 Years of Hope and Humor.” Also nominated for Emmys were Trading Spaces, The Osbournes, and Cirque du Soleil: Fire Within, which compete in the Nonfiction Program Alternative category. Individual episodes of both Survivor Thailand and Survivor Amazon were nominated in the nonfiction editing, cinematography, and art direction categories.
