Rolling Stone launches weekly writing contest based on reality show’s challenges
Rolling Stone magazine has launched a competition that parallels its new MTV reality show I’m from Rolling Stone.
Every Monday, the magazine’s web site will offer a writing assignment based on the assignment that the show’s contestants had to complete on the previous night’s episode. The first assignment is “300 words or less describing your local music scene.” It’s due Friday at noon ET.
The winner will receive a MacBook, some speakers, and “the opportunity to write a blog for three (3) months for www.rollingstone.com,” according to the official rules. Weekly winners will receive “a First Act guitar and a Rhapsody Sansa.” The contest is limited to Americans who are age 18 or older.
