The UK’s I’m a Celebrity—Get Me Out of Here!—which will come to the U.S. on ABC next year—wasn’t called Survivor, but the owners of Castaway Productions, the company that owns the rights to the format, “are now attempting to sue” the company that produced the celebrity show, the BBC reports. Castaway says that the celebrity show “contained many of the same elements” as Survivor, including stranding people in a remote location with only rice and water, and having them be voted off the show. “Survivor took many years to develop, a process costing hundreds of thousands of pounds,” the producers said. Earlier, Castaway sued Endemol over Big Brother, claiming that show was similar to Survivor.
