ArchivesVH1 spins off Flavor of Love tonight with the debut of I Love New York, the series formally known as Flavorette. The show debuts at 9 p.m. ET, but has been online for the past week.
On the show, New York, aka Tiffany Pollard, will search for a mate and be assisted by her mother in her quest. In an interview with Black Voices, she explains why she is sometimes called Tiffany Patterson, and admits, “I was an aspiring actress. And I still am.”
But if you’re at all skeptical that she’s doing the show only for fame and attention, not really for love, New York says that she’s more serious about her quest for love than Flavor or those Bachelor bitches.
“I’m not saying that Flav wasn’t now, but there have been times when he said he was looking for a real good friend— me, no, no, no I’m looking for my one and only,” she said. “I’m really looking for love. Everything was real on his show too but the thing that stands out the most is that I really got to know these guys on a personal level.”
