VH1 burning off edited I Love Money 4 after skipping season three

An edited version of I Love Money’s fourth season debuted on VH1 last week more than a year after a scandal led the network to cancel the third season and months after VH1 said it would never air this season.

The third season of the competition included murder suspect Ryan Jenkins, and while VH1 initially said it might air the season, VH1 exec Jeff Olde told the AP—in an April story that was quoted by VH1’s own blog—that the fourth season would not air. Now, though, the show is airing new episodes Thursday nights at 11, but has also been broadcasting them during early morning hours.

A VH1 spokesperson told the New York Daily News that the show “is focusing more on the competition as opposed to some of the interaction between the cast,” and “It’s a new, edited version. We have a new programming filter here.”

That filter allowed the first episode to include drinking to the point of vomiting and a yelling match (and implied physical fight) between two female contestants while their breasts threatened to spill out of their minuscule bikinis.
