A&E will air Australia’s Outback House

While PBS will soon air Texas Ranch House, another network is ending PBS’ monopoly on the historical reality genre.

A&E has purchased Outback House, an Australian series that follows “Australians who travel back in time to spend three months running a remote 19th century sheep station exactly as their forebears did in 1861,” according to a press release. The series caused controversy earlier this year when a contestant kicked a rooster and some lambs died.

The series consists of eight 55-minute episodes. There’s no word yet when A&E will air the show.
