Colonial House cast member Jeff Lin writes on his web site that the cast and crew of the show developed an antagonistic relationship. “There was an us vs. them attitude that we had toward the production crew, who constantly spoke of their ‘parallel experience’ living in the northern woods of rural Maine,” he says. He also writes of watching his experiences become scenes on television—such as spending five weeks building a house, a process that consumed “a mind-numbing seven minutes of airtime.”
