Never fear, Honey Boo Boo is not going away
Here Comes Honey Boo Boo ends its first season tonight, but Alana Thompson and her family aren’t done with being mocked quite yet: TLC announced today that the network has ordered more episodes, including holiday specials that it’s calling “HOLLAday specials” (sigh). It’s not clear when those new episodes will air, but the specials are for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
TLC noted that the show “has averaged 2.3 million viewers to date,” and the network’s GM, Amy Winter, said the obvious: the show “has become a pop culture phenomenon.” It has also become a media phenomenon.
