Hell's Kitchen 3

Rock wins Hell’s Kitchen 3 and $250,000

Rock Harper, a 30-year-old chef from Virginia, has won Hell’s Kitchen 3. He defeated nanny/chef Bonnie Muirhead, and won a revenue-sharing position of head chef at the Green Valley Ranch Resort in Las Vegas, and a $250,000 salary.

Since Hell’s Kitchen is super-predictable (never mind that bettors revealed the outcome back in June), the finale included basically the exact same elements as every other finale. The restaurants were “behind schedule” and there were last-minute problems—for the third season in a row! And the chefs who returned to staff the kitchen had problems. In Bonnie’s kitchen, Julia, the Waffle House cook, decided to ignore and/or argue with Bonnie instead of just doing something, while in Rock’s, Josh, the contestant who continually insists that he knows how to cook yet can never ever cook anything, screwed up yet again.

The outcome, though, was expected. Ramsay explained, “Rock deserved to win Hell’s Kitchen because he’s a very confident cook, and he has become a really good leader. He can motivate staff, he can create. All those qualities is not easy to find in one chef; Rock holds all of them.”
