Hell’s Kitchen 2 debuts on FOX tonight
“World-class chef” Gordon Ramsay returns to TV tonight to ridicule, humiliate, and emotionally destroy 12 chefs when FOX debuts Hell’s Kitchen 2. The two-hour premiere starts at 8 p.m. ET, although the show will normally air at 9 p.m.
The cast includes a 43-year-old stockbroker fresh out of culinary school, a 27-year-old FOX identifies as a “Former Prisoner/Chef,” and a 31-year-old “cafeteria chef,” all of whom should make excellent canvases for Ramsay to hurl food at. Alas, Dewberry is not returning, unless he makes a surprise cameo.
The winner this year will receive “the coveted title of Executive Chef of a luxurious fine-dining restaurant at the brand-new Red Rock Casino Resort and Spa in Las Vegas” and “a financial interest in the restaurant and assist its design,” the show’s web site says. That prize has Ramsay even more uptight than usual; the show’s executive producer told the New York Post earlier that “certain things happen along the way where I’ve never seen him get this angry. There was one situation were after we were done [for the day], it took quite awhile to calm him down.”
