Showtime turning The L Word into a reality series that will follow six L.A. lesbians

Showtime’s drama The L Word ended last spring, but it is turning the show into a reality series: The Real L Word: Los Angeles.

Produced by Magical Elves, the show would follow six lesbians in L.A., basically borrowing the format of The Real Housewives. The network “has greenlit nine episodes” that “would debut sometime next year,” Variety reports.

Magical Elves’ Jane Lipsitz told the paper, “We love to tell authentic stories about complex characters and feel like this is an area that has yet to be explored in reality television.”
