ArchivesABC will add to its dancing-related reality competition series in January with Dance Machine. The five-episode series is “a dance competition featuring real people competing for a cash prize,” according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Production company RDF’s CEO Chris Coelen said the show features “[o]rdinary people, extraordinary circumstances and a whole lot of money on the line.” A casting notice posted last month called the show All the Right Moves, and said, “You don’t have to be a trained dancer to take home the cash. All you need is lots of energy and the willingness to leave it all out on the dance floor.”
In other new-show news, cable network WE will air an eight-part documentary series called High School Confidential. It follows “the lives of a group of high school girls from freshman year to graduation” and “aims to gives viewers an in-depth look into the lives of 14 diverse adolescent girls through their four years of high school,” according to the Hollywood Reporter.
“This series is unlike anything else we’ve ever done or I’ve ever seen on TV. High school for teenage girls is one of the most stressful times of their lives. It’s all about fitting in and wanting to be part of a bigger group. This shows what their lives are really like — it’s not sugarcoated in any way, shape or form,” WE VP Kim Martin said.
