ArchivesABC is planning yet another talent search reality show. The Imposter will search “for individuals who can do a great impersonation of a famous person, be it a musician, actor or athlete,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The show wants people who can actually perform. “If you’re impersonating Madonna, for instance, you can’t just lip-sync, you’ll have to really perform,” executive producer Peter Engel said.
The show is being executive produced by Engel and Barry Katz, who produce Last Comic Standing for NBC. Like that show, there will be a panel of judges. Perhaps also like that show, they’ll ignore the judges decisions and select contestants they manage.
