ArchivesMTV has ordered Moves, a reality series about dancers from executive producer Jennifer Lopez.
The series, which will debut late this year, is not a competition; instead, it “will follow the [six] dancers and tell their interconnected stories as they work to achieve their dreams, showcasing such aspects as their struggle to pay rent to the excitement of dancing for 30,000 screaming fans,” according to the Hollywood Reporter. However, besides casting the show, J-Lo “will make cameo appearances throughout the season.”
Lopez created the show, she said in a statement, because “I started out as a dancer, and I know what that world is. These dancers have dedicated their lives to this, and honestly, the glory is not always there. It’s something they do only out of love. It’s a tough life, and I want to show that struggle.”
