CBS’ As the World Turns cast member search, called Inturn, will air online only
CBS has been casting for a new show that will find a cast member for its soap opera As the World Turns, and an announcement today says the show will air online as part of the network’s new Innertube broadband channel.
Inturn, according to a press release, is “[a]n online reality show on CBS.com featuring a group of young hopefuls who experience two weeks of ‘soap opera boot camp’”; the winner will receive “a 13 week role on the” soap.
Broadcasting and Cable says the show has “elements of Big Brother, Survivor and The Apprentice” and will be “five-minute episodes [that] will feature 10 would-be soaps stars living together in a loft in Brooklyn and interning at the show. They will vote each other off until a winner is selected.”
Mailed-in applications [PDF] are due tomorrow, but CBS is holding an open casting Friday from 3 to 9 p.m. at The Village of Merrick Park in Coral Gables, Fla. Bring “proof of age and recent photo/headshot.”
