VH1 has ordered a new reality series “following couples who are planning over-the-top, lavish weddings,” according to the Hollywood Reporter. Those weddings featured on My Big Fat Fabulous Wedding will cost more than $500,000.
Producer Kimberly Belcher Cowin says the show is “basically following couples planning big, over-the-top weddings who are spending insane amounts of money on flowers or bringing in big-name bands to their wedding. (It’ll show) the drama that goes into planning a wedding along with the concept of big money — the people in that top tier who are planning these crazy bashes and spending jaw-dropping amounts of money.” In other words, it’ll be a lot of fun to hate these people.
VH1 has also renewed Hogan Knows Best for a third season, and greenlit “an unscripted series featuring top Houston rapper Paul Wall,” according to the paper.
