Carville and Matalin will advise high school president candidates on Lifetime show Election
Lifetime is planning a political reality series, but unlike Showtime’s American Candidate, the participants will actually be running for office: high school president.
Election will follow politician students at a Washington, DC, area school. Advising the participants will be James Carville and Mary Matalin, the husband and wife team of political consultants who’ve helped their candidates win—and lose—elections. Time magazine reports that the two “have signed on to counsel the candidates for school president.”
Carville doesn’t offer hope for his advise being taken. “The real trick with any 61-year-old dealing with any 16-year-old is to get them to listen to a word you say. I’m remarkably unsuccessful with my own,” he told Time.
