A&E cancels Rollergirls, is developing other reality series

A&E’s Rollergirls, the first series to borrow Laguna Beach’s aesthetic, has been cancelled. Variety reports that “execs were pleased with the content of the show” but that “ratings were subpar.”

A&E is not abandoning reality TV, however. The network has renewed Dallas SWAT, and will debut a new Dog the Bounty Hunter this month and new series King of Cars next month.

And A&E has ordered a pilot for a show that “follows showbiz kids Randy Spelling, Sean Stewart (son of Rod) and budding talent agent Dave Weintraub as they move out of their parents’ homes and try life as roomies.” Also in development is Out There, which follows “members of an officially sanctioned Paranormal Research Society at Penn State.”
