ArchivesThe producers of Project Runway are creating a new talent-based reality show for Bravo. The show, Top Chef, sounds like a carbon copy of FOX’s Hell’s Kitchen.
Bravo’s press release says it will be “a new reality competition series set in the pressurized environment of world-class cookery and the restaurant business” that “will feature twelve aspiring chefs competing for their shot at culinary stardom and the chance to earn the prestigious title of ‘Top Chef.’” The series will be hosted by chef Katie Lee Joel, Billy Joel’s spouse; it began production late last month in San Francisco and will air in 2006.
Meanwhile, CMT will air a series following Kinky Friedman’s gubernatorial campaign. Go Kinky follows the comedian and writer as he runs for office; his campaign motto is “Why the hell not?”. Although the show won’t air until next year, the network aired the first two episodes this morning at 1 a.m., when probably no one watched.
