Robert Englund says CBS’ reality Nightmare on Elm Street is “gone forever.”
The reality version of Nightmare on Elm Street that was announced, cast, and shot last year has apparently been shelved. Episodes of Nightmare on Elm Street: Real Nightmares would have shown “three elaborate recreations of contestants’ fears.” However, according to Robert England, who spoke to PhillyBurbs, the series was produced for CBS but is now “gone forever.” He says that CBS “just didn’t need another reality show. They had to put their new show, ‘Numbers’—which I actually really like—up into that time slot we were going to have.” He says people at CBS “were great with us. Everything was great, the problem is, CBS, everything they’ve touched in the past year or two is absolute gold, and they just don’t have any room for us on their schedule.” He does note that “the only place it could ever appear is on the UPN Network,” but adds, “I think it’s just one of those things I have to say goodbye to.”
