ABC picks up more feel-good reality with health makeover show Miracle Worker.
Ugly people’s faces and homes that are falling apart have both been the subjects of reality TV shows on ABC, and the network has reportedly picked up another makeover show. On Miracle Worker, “a team of physicians will scour the country seeking people who urgently need medical care but do not have the wherewithal to obtain it,” The New York Times reports. Like Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, the show will feature a recurring group of makeover specialists, but this show’s cast will all be doctors. They “might arrange a heart procedure for one critically ill family member, while also securing psychological care for the person’s spouse and children,” the Times writes. The show is being produced by DreamWorks and the creators of Blind Date, Renegade 83 Entertainment; six episodes have been ordered.
