Bravo picks up Bobby Brown series; Gene Simmons is juggling three offers.
Bravo will debut Being Bobby Brown next spring, following “Brown, his wife, pop superstar Whitney Houston and his extended family over the course of six months as they put their respective lives back together,” according to a press release. Bravo’s president says the new series “will allow the public to see Brown outside the context of a pop icon and bad boy, rather they’ll witness an artist striving to clean up his life for his future and the future of his family.” … Meanwhile, KISS frontman Gene Simmons has three offers for reality TV shows, according to the New York Daily News. Proving he has what it takes to be a reality TV star, he says he’ll make a decision based upon the cash he’s offered: “There are three on the table. And I’m no different than the whore on the street corner: For the right price, I’ll do it.” … For those actresses who just can’t wait for their career to explode and then crash and burn before being offered their own reality TV shows, The WB is producing Next Hollywood Starlet. The network is “looking for people who truly want to be actresses. They could be performing community theater in a small town in Kansas or the girl who’s been trying to make it in New York or L.A.,” producer and former Mole Kathryn Price told the AP. Those chosen will compete against each other, a la Top Model, for some sort of prize. The series is currently casting; applications are due Sept. 25. … Finally, A&E is looking for teams of people who can take $10,000 and turn it into a business venture in one week; the resulting series will be called The Big Idea. Apply here.
