E! is about to overdose on reality TV. Among the new shows that will air on both E! and Style network are, Television Week reports, Trophy Wife, “a competitive reality show in which 16 young women compete for the affection of an older Hollywood entertainment mogul,” and The Actress, a dating series in which the “women are actresses playing roles (cheerleader, cowgirl, etc.) while the man believes he is on a real dating show. The woman he chooses as the winner will receive a role in a major motion picture.” E! will also air a meta reality series, Challenge Reality, during which contestants pitch reality show ideas and the winner gets his or her show made. Style is taking a different route, focusing on non-competitive dramatic reality series. They include Work It Out!, set in an LA gym; The Hotspot, set at the Roosevelt Hotel; and Uptown Salon, set in NYC salons.
