show seeks “next domestic icon”; Mark Burnett producing missing children show.
A competition to find the next Martha Stewart is being produced by LMNO Productions for CBS. The Apprentice- or Top Model-like show that will feature competitions between “12 people who have ability in the lifestyle arena and … who can become this country’s next domestic icon,” its producer says. (CBS is currently accepting applications.) Eric Schotz says the competition “will most likely take place in the Northeast, in a Connecticut-style farmhouse that’s our version of the reality mansion.” Hey, maybe Martha will rent her house to them, since she won’t be needing it pretty soon. Elsewhere, Mark Burnett is producing a “reality show that will chronicle the heart-wrenching searches for kidnapped children.” According to TV Week, Recovery “will follow a case from after a child’s abduction through the search to the reunion of the child with his or her parents.” CBS ordered a pilot but has not yet picked up the series.
