two NASCAR series in the works.
Nine NASCAR drivers, including Dale Earnhardt, Jr., have signed up to participate in FX’s upcoming series NASCAR: Drivers Unscripted. The eight-episode series will debut in May and will take advantage of the “unlimited access” the producers have. Zap2it.com reports that the show also “promises access to their lives away from the track.” Elsewhere, “one of a handful of black owners to field racecars on any NASCAR circuit in recent years” is shopping a reality TV series about his team, The Herald-Sun reports. Thee Dixon is looking for “a sponsor to film a pilot show, with the ultimate goal of producing a one-hour weekly reality TV series based on the Mansion Motorsports team.” That team will include “a black driver (to be named once a sponsor is secured)” and “a Hispanic pit crew (made up of painters who work for Dixon during the week)” plus “a white team manager.”
