Two new shows play with the blurring lines of gender—or just screw with their cast members’ heads. UPN will air Awfully Pretty, which “will follow a group of men who are transformed into women by their wives or girlfriends. The men will live together in a house and be forced to live as women 24 hours a day, seven days a week,” Variety reports. FOX steals Boy Meets Boy’s format and flops it around for Playing it Straight. In the show, “a single woman named Jackie who attempts to make a love connection by choosing from a pool of single men—some of whom are actually gay.” FOX’s Mike Darnell says the show, which will debut March 12, airing Fridays at 8 p.m. ET, is “intense and emotional and funny all at the same time. It sort of breaks stereotypes, which I like.”
