Bravo will air Project Runway; Andy Roddick, porn stars also get shows.
Following its participation in two seasons of HBO’s Project Greenlight, Miramax is teaming with Bravo to produce Project Runway, “a behind-the-scrim documentary series and competition set in the other most glamorous business in the world - the fashion industry.” The ten-episode series will air next summer and conclude during New York’s Fashion Week in Sept., when three remaining contestants will present their runway shows; Heidi Klum will judge along with others in the fashion industry. Miramax’s Harvey Weinstein said in a press release that “Bravo, Heidi and producer Desiree Gruber are the perfect partners to help find and identify the same untapped talent in the fashion world that ‘Project Greenlight’ has found in film.” To that, Gawker replies: “Oh yes. That went well.” … Meanwhile, Can You Be a Porn Star? “will track 28 women as they move, four at a time, into a Los Angeles home and endure a ‘gauntlet of interviews, photo shoots, challenges and surprises,’” E! Online reports. The eight-episode series debuts Jan. 8 on inDemand pay-per-view, and will be hosted by porn stars Mary Carey and Free Tabitha Stevens. … Finally, number one ranked tennis player in the world tennis star Andy Roddick and Saturday Night Live host this Saturday will be the star of his own show called The Tour, which is currently network-less. E! says it will “follow Roddick’s bouncing tennis ball as the 21-year-old, top-ranked ace travels the globe next May to September.”
