Simon Cowell’s forthcoming reality TV show Cupid will reverse the formula followed by shows such as The Bachelor and Mr. Personality. The show’s star—Lisa Shannon, a 25-year-old ad writer—will audition men herself (along with some of her friends), and then find her group narrowed by the show’s viewers. Simon says he “never understood the premise of a dating show whereby the girls have got to select people who have been pre-selected by producers.” Simon is only producing the show; former MTV VJ Brian McFayden will host. The 11-week series debuts July 11 on CBS and will air live after the first few episodes; if Lisa stays with the man she selects for an entire year, they get $1 million.
